CRAZY FANS

Street dance poster
We're crazy about street dance! We've seen all the movies which appear these kind of dance and we've also seen some videos in internet. In our rooms we have plenty of posters of the actors and actresses of these films, and posters of our favourite dancers.
When we go shopping in "Portal de l'Àngel" there are, sometimes, people dancing street dance in the middle of the avenue, so we keep there watching them, beacuse we love it and we spend a very good time there.

This project isn't difficult for us, because we know quite a lot about this theme and we love it. It is being an interesting and exciting work.

Different Styles

These two guys are an example of great LOCKING street dancers.

BREAK DANCE. Oh come on, it's incredible! How can they do all that stuff?

It was SHUFFLE, one of the street dance's styles. They seem a little bit mad moreover it's really strange, and we love watching strange things.

These is POPPING with a little bit of LOCKING.

Our opinion about Street dance

Brake dance
We've choosen this theme (street dance), because we're crazy about this kind of dance and we love the way they move in the street. We've seen some movies which the characters do competitions of Street dance and we were really impressed. It would be fenomenal for us if one day we can do some of the most common street dance moves. We've already tried to learn hip hop, but it wasn't the same as we can see in these videos, because they have a very high level.

We spend a very good time watching videos of professional street dancers, so we're putting some of them in this website, so you can watch them as well.

Diversity in Britain's got talent

Diversity is a street dance group from London and Essex, best knowing for winning the third series of the English TV programme Britain's Got Talent. This group was created in 2007, and it was made for eleven boys between 13 and 26 years old (while they were in the TV programme).

What do we thing about this group and about this video?
We find this group amazing! We don't know how they can move this way but it's extremely impressive. Their choreography is very well done, because it's full of different types of movements and there is a little bit of each street dance style. Besides being terrific dancers, they have such a good imagination, and we can see this point in all their choreographies. They never repeat the same idea twice.

George sampson in Britain's got talent

George Sampson, a street dancer from Warrington, England, was the winner of the second series of Britain's Got Talent in 2008, when he was only 14 years old. As a prize, he received 100,000 pounds. He performed in this TV programme before, at the age of 13, but he didn't win; Simon Cowell, one of the judges, was not able to convince the other two and let him win. George, the young boy, didn't give up and he came back to Britain's Got Talent one year later to try it again.

This was his audition to get in the program for second time. He danced "Rock This Party (Everybody Dance Now)" and as the judges said, he was incredible. It was only the beginning, he had to train harder and learn new movements to get in the final.

Here you've got the video of the final which he danced "Singing in the Rain".

The final dance

This is a choreography that appears in the film "Street Dance, Step Up 2". It's the final dance which this group of guys prepared for a street dance competition.
We want to share this video, because we like the way they dance, and we've seen the film before. This dance is the most impressive and exciting part of the movie.

Street dance introduction

A street dance group dancing among the spectators.
Street dance, more formally known as vernacular dance is a general term to describe different kinds of dance styles, which have evolved in open places, such as streets, parks, school yards, raves and nightclubs. It's a nature and social dance, because it's easy to see the contact between the dancers and the spectators. Here you can see a short description of the most common street dance styles:

-Break dance, also known as breaking or b-boying, includes part of the movements of hip hop. Breaking is one of the four elements of Hip Hop culture, the other three are MCing (rapping), DJing (Disc jockey) and graffiti.

-Popping is the fast contraction and relaxation of muscles to which is done continuously to the beat of a song in combination with other types of movements of mime.

-Locking is characterized by fast and different hand and arm movements combined with more relaxed movements of legs and hips. The movements are usually long and exaggerated, often rhythmic and synchronized with music. The movements consists of freezing after a quick move to get to a concrete position or holding for a short period of time and then continue with the same speed as before. It includes acrobatic movements.
